At Paneles Decorativos PanelPiedra®® we know that constant progress is what keeps improving people's quality of life while protecting the natural world around us. We are committed to making our processes more sustainable, with the firm aim of making every one of our panels a solution that benefits both the user and the planet.
We make our panels with 75 % recycled materials, including marble dust and quarry waste, which reduces our environmental impact and puts to use resources that would otherwise go to waste. Always with an eye on making every part of the business more sustainable.

Resins with circularity built in
Our resins: a commitment to the environment.
At Paneles Decorativos PanelPiedra®® we care about the future of the planet. That is why our resins contain a high proportion of recycled materials. Specifically, every square metre of our resin contains at least a third recycled PET plastic bottles.
By building recycled plastic into our products we not only reduce environmental impact but also offer innovative, sustainable solutions for interior design. With every panel we give a second life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfill, turning them into high-quality, long-lasting and attractive pieces.

Less water, less waste
Our plant has water treatment systems and manual processes to avoid using more water than necessary.
Our raw material is 75 % recyclable: marble dust and quarry waste. We are concerned about pollution and about waste such as plastic, so we use recyclable cardboard for our packaging to help protect the land and the oceans, because marine biodiversity is vital to the health of people and of the planet.
We want to conserve nature, adapting every manufacturing process to minimise the impact of what we do on the environment. We try to generate as little waste as possible by making the most of our raw materials: panel thicknesses are carefully worked out to avoid unnecessary bulk, cutting waste without affecting design or quality.
Our products are built to last, can be repainted —which means the product itself can be recycled— and can be taken down and refitted elsewhere, making them a reusable product.
Polyurethane: light, long-lasting and circular
At PanelPiedra®® we are committed to making our products steadily more sustainable, innovating in the safety of every process.
Polyurethane, our main raw material, has a set of properties that make it ideal for sustainability and for protecting the environment. It is highly versatile, durable and efficient, which gives our products a long service life, reducing the need for frequent replacement and so generating less waste.
Polyurethane is also light, which cuts energy use in transport and installation. The fact that it can be recycled and reused in all sorts of applications also makes it a material that supports the circular economy, keeping its impact on the environment to a minimum.
We make the most of all these properties to manufacture products that not only meet high standards of quality but actively help preserve nature, showing that innovation and environmental responsibility can go together in every design.
Insulation that saves energy
Polyurethane is an effective thermal insulator and provides acoustic insulation too. PanelPiedra®® decorative panels are certified for Thermal Insulation under UNE standards.
As effective insulators, they improve the energy efficiency of buildings and reduce the need for heating and cooling, and so cut carbon emissions.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) give quantified information on a product's environmental impact over its service life. PU Europe has carried out an environmental and economic life-cycle analysis of polyurethane as insulation in nearly zero-energy buildings, concluding that it is a highly efficient material solution given its low life-cycle cost.
Safety and protection with PanelPiedra®®
At PanelPiedra®® we care about the safety of people and property. That is why we chose polyurethane as our main raw material: by its very nature it does not give off asphyxiating gases or fumes when exposed to fire. Polyurethane is also non-toxic on contact with fire, which increases protection both for users and for the spaces our panels are fitted in.
As well as the inherent properties of polyurethane, our panels are made with a certified fire-retardant coating under UNE standards, which guarantees that they do not burn and can withstand high temperatures before they begin to deform. This coating not only gives greater protection against fire but also improves safety in residential, commercial and industrial settings.

We are committed to becoming a Carbon Neutral company
Our commitment to the environment is total. We have developed an advanced climate action plan that lets us measure the carbon footprint generated in recent years. With it we will be able to reduce, and even neutralise, the environmental impact of our business.
Greenhouse gas emissions that cannot be avoided will be offset by buying carbon credits. In this way PanelPiedra®® is committed to becoming a 100 % Carbon Neutral company within the next few years.
